WOVEN IDENTITIES
WOVEN IDENTITIES
Many cultures have used textiles as a mean of personal or regional identification. Bright, colorful yarns are woven in traditional patterns to represent a clan, town, region or ethnic group. Similarly I have woven in my canvas the threads of my multi-cultural heritage: a Salvadorian born Chinese trained in the United States. This collection has become a travelling exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador.
Most of these works are available in limited editon giclee prints on paper and/or canvas. Please contact the artist for more information.
